Dorothee Weinlich

Cooperation projects with companies, with the municipality of Hanover and cultural institutions are the core of her teaching. For many years she has been taking her students on excursions and fieldtrips in Germany and abroad.

Dorothee Weinlich, born in 1966, studied visual communication in Mainz, graduated as a designer in 1992 and then attended an interdisciplinary master’s program in Boston/USA, where she graduated in 1994 with an MFA in design.
Before she became a professor at HsH, she was active in the Berlin agency scene. The defining station was the design agency MetaDesign Berlin. In 2005 he was appointed to the University of Applied Sciences in Hanover, Faculty of Media, Information and Design. As a professor, Ms. Weinlich has been teaching in the Integrated Media & Communication major since 2015 and in the Experimental Design major since 2016. In addition, she has been in charge of the interdisciplinary foundations course since 2005.
Dorothee Weinlich was the faculty’s Equal Opportunities Officer from 2007–2019.
From 2019–2021 she held the position of Dean of Studies.
Since 2021 she has been the international coordinator of the faculty
