Saara Kankare is a 22-year-old first-year Fine Art student. Kankare moved from a small town called Ulvila, to Tampere about 4 years ago. Initially she had no plans for what she would do in Tampere. After around a year of working different low-grade jobs, Kankare decided to pursue her dreams in art.
Kankare prefers traditional mediums, like oil paints and charcoal, but she is fascinated by more modern ways of making art, which is why she ended up in TAMK. The themes in her art vary; for a long time Kankare made so called “dark art” or “horror art”, and then she started exploring renaissance styles. Now her art style is somewhere in-between the two.
